Hi, I’m Eddie
I started photography in 2006, in earnest, after I was able to save up enough to get an entry level DSLR. In reality, though, I have always been interested in photography. When I was probably 12 or 13 my parents put me in a summer arts program where I learned the basics of taking photos and developing film. I still have and cherish that 35mm film camera, despite the rocky family memories tied to it.
I enjoy taking photos not because I have some grand overarching idea or story, but because I feel that images which make you feel something, even if it’s a simple “oh that’s pretty” can enrich our lives. Life is an unexpected ramble through situations and emotions mundane and sublime. We can dread the next minute as the clock ticks down at work, or we can watch hours speed past as we immerse ourselves with loved ones. Photography, for me, captures something and helps me feel that, in some small way. It lets me remember or imagine a feeling.
Much as singing a song can help an audience feel what the singer feels, but through the lens of the listener’s experiences, I want people who view my photos to feel what I feel and see what I see. I want you to see the world as I do and feel what I do, and I invite you to do so colored by your own experiences.
Should you find an image you’d like to purchase, that purchase will go toward funding a 2023 attempt to thru-hike the Pacific Crest Trail. Adventure is important to me and I’m sure you’ll enjoy seeing the images I take on trail.
Thank you, and welcome.
